Aluminium Sliding Door Prices

Aluminium sliding doors are a practical choice for patios, lounges, bedrooms, kitchens and entertainment areas because the panels slide horizontally instead of swinging into the room or patio.

Sigmadoors Patio sliding doors are available in two standard configurations:

OX — 2 panels: one fixed panel and one sliding panel.
OXXO — 4 panels: two fixed outer panels and two centre sliding panels.

Standard Patio sliding doors are supplied with the aluminium frame, clear safety glass, handles, tracks and rollers.

Aluminium Folding & Stacking Door Prices

Aluminium folding doors, also commonly called stacking doors or bi-fold doors, are designed for openings where a wider clear opening is preferred.

Instead of one or two panels sliding behind fixed panels, multiple folding panels move and stack together. This makes folding doors particularly suitable for entertainment areas, patios, lounges and large indoor-outdoor living spaces.

Sigmadoors folding doors are available in 3-panel, 5-panel and 7-panel configurations, with standard heights including 2100mm, 2400mm and 2700mm.

Aluminium Door Prices by Size

Sometimes you know the opening size before you know the door type.

The standard Patio OXXO is the more economical option, while Palace provides a heavier sliding system and the folding door allows multiple panels to stack together for a wider opening.

Doors with Sidelights

Fixed or opening sidelights can be combined with entrance doors to increase the overall entrance width, introduce additional natural light or provide ventilation. The important distinction when comparing prices is also whether you are looking at: Door Only | Door + Delivery | Door + Installation Note also that a low advertised price may not include delivery, installation or building work associated with replacing an existing door. * Prices are a guide only. Prices may change without notice regarding codes, size, configuration, glass and selected options. For the latest price, view the individual aluminium door product or request a quotation for custom aluminium doors.

What Affects Aluminium Door Prices?

The size of the opening is important, but it is only one part of the final aluminium door price.

Door size — wider and taller doors require more aluminium, glass and manufacturing time.

Configuration — OX, OXX, OXXO and multi-panel folding systems use different quantities of material and operating hardware.

Door system — standard Patio and Palace sliding doors use different aluminium profiles and hardware specifications.

Glass — safety glass, laminated glass, privacy glass, tinted glass, reflective glass and other glazing options can change the price.

Colour and finish — Natural Anodised (Silver), White, Bronze, Charcoal, Black and other available finishes may affect pricing.

Hardware — handles, locks, cylinders, rollers, hinges, tracks, seals and specialised folding or pivot hardware vary according to the system.

Standard vs custom — standard catalogue doors can usually be priced directly, while custom aluminium doors need to be manufactured and quoted for the specific opening.

Installation — supply-only and professionally installed aluminium door prices are not the same.

What Do Sigmadoors Aluminium Door Prices Include?

Sigmadoors prices are based on complete aluminium door products rather than aluminium frames alone.

Depending on the particular door system, a standard product may include:

  • Aluminium outer frame and door panels
  • Glass
  • Handles
  • Locks
  • Cylinder and keys
  • Hinges or rollers
  • Tracks
  • Weather seals and gaskets
  • Required operating hardware

The exact inclusions differ between a Patio sliding door, Palace sliding door, hinged door, pivot door and folding system, so the specification for the selected product should be checked before ordering.

Delivery, installation, removal of an existing door, building alterations, plaster repairs, painting, waterproofing, structural work and access equipment may be separate from the advertised door price.

Supply Only vs Installed Aluminium Door Prices

There is an important difference between the price of an aluminium door and the cost of having the complete door installed at a property.

Supply Only

The aluminium door is manufactured and supplied to the customer or project. Installation is arranged separately.

Supply + Delivery

The aluminium door is manufactured and transported to the agreed delivery address.

Supply + Installation

The door is supplied and professionally fitted into the prepared opening according to the agreed installation scope.

For replacement projects, additional costs can arise from removing the existing door, disposing of old materials, preparing or correcting the opening, threshold work, sealing, waterproofing, plaster repairs or structural alterations.

A customer replacing an old steel or timber door should therefore compare the complete installed cost, not simply the price of the new aluminium door.

Standard vs Custom Aluminium Door Prices

Standard aluminium doors offer a straightforward way to control costs because the sizes, configurations and manufacturing specifications are already established.

If a standard size fits your opening, you can compare prices and choose the appropriate product directly from the Sigmadoors range.

Custom aluminium doors are manufactured specifically for openings that don’t correspond with the standard catalogue.

A custom quotation can take into account:

Width × Height | Door Type | Configuration | Number of Panels | Colour | Glass | Hardware | Installation

Custom manufacturing is particularly useful for renovations, architect-designed homes, unusually large openings and projects where doors need to align with existing windows or architectural features.

Comparing Aluminium Door Prices

When comparing aluminium doors, compare like with like.

Two doors with identical dimensions can have very different prices because they may use completely different aluminium systems, configurations, glass and hardware.

Consider:

Door size — compare the same overall width and height.

Aluminium system — determine whether you are comparing Patio, Palace, folding, hinged or another system.

Configuration — an OX sliding door should not be compared directly with an OXXO or multi-panel folding system.

Glass — compare the type and thickness of glass included.

Hardware — check the handles, locks, rollers, hinges, tracks and other operating hardware.

Colour — make sure the quoted finish is the same.

Delivery — establish whether delivery is included or charged separately.

Installation — determine whether the quotation is supply-only or installed.

After-sales support — consider access to replacement hardware, adjustments and repair services.

A 2400 × 2100mm Patio sliding door, for example, is currently listed at R8,920.20, while a 2400 × 2100mm Palace OX sliding door starts at approximately R14,100. Although the nominal opening size is the same, the doors belong to different aluminium systems.

Does colour affect aluminium door prices?

It can. Aluminium finish and colour can influence manufacturing cost depending on the selected product and finish.

Are custom aluminium doors more expensive?

Custom doors are individually manufactured to the required dimensions and specifications, so they require project-specific pricing rather than a standard catalogue price.
